Towards the Hoard of a Hundred Horrors: Muscaliets

Plump sunburst-noses, skin like a pig that's been singed bare for butchering, long shanks with broad paws, like you'd stuck the feet of a mole on the legs of a frog, and the teeth - bucked and layered down the throat, able to grind down any animal or vegetable matter as if it'd been tossed into the guts of a machine.

They feed on the fire of the earth itself, its hot molten life-blood, and are lambent with their glutted heat. Pushed to the surface away from their favoured fare, by greater predators or tectonic shifts or whatever else, and they become a locust-nightmare, sweeping over the land with gnashing and fire.

They are

Muscaliets

Body Heat: The radiant heat given off by a muscaliet's body inflicts 1 slot of exhaustion per round that one spends within 10 feet of it. All such exhaustion slots can be cleared by gulping down cool water or somesuch similar method. This effect is not cumulative if you are within 10 feet of multiple muscaliets.

Explosive: Upon death a muscaliet explodes, dealing 2d6 damage to everything within 10 feet (save for half). This effect is cumulative if you are within 10 feet of multiple exploding muscaliets.
